There is a small place in Red Hook that is probably as close to seafood heaven as anyone could ever be. That's Red Hook Lobster Pound! There is no train that goes there. There is no long, beautiful walk that will color your day as you happen to discover this place. No. There is only lobsters and the undiscovered glory that is Red Hook.
I actually like Red Hood. It is like a small town that overlooks the Statue of Liberty. Red Hook is so not pretentious. It creeps in your heart with its one or two coffee shops and captures you with its empty loft style buildings. But the gemstone of Red Hook is the Red Hook Lobster Pound. It is totally worth the uber car ride, bike run, or bus wait.
